I feel like grabbing the scissors and a clump of my hair and just cutting it. This is a dangerous feeling. Really though, I'm leaning towards a bob cut and dying it a rusty red color.

End of Zeta

Jan. 5th, 2011 | 10:37 am

Right before watching the last few episodes of Zeta I listed my favorite characters adding that I hope they don't die in the end.

They pretty much all died in the end.

My favorite is Emma. She had a really great grasp on what was going on and served a lot of functions on both the Argama and Radish. I was even pulling for her and Captain Henken to get together....well...they both died.

Katz was another favorite since he was completely destroyed because of the war and Sarah. Dead.

Rosammy I liked a lot. She was batshit crazy but pretty great. Dead.

I have a bunch of other favorites of course like Fa, Bright, and predictably Char but they all survived. Shit, even Roccoa died and while she's not one of my favs I liked her a lot.

I adore Tomino. He's not afraid of killing people off at all and he reserves the worst of the worse ends for Kamille...that of going insane. Just like making Amuro's father insane, Kamille ends his career in war a gibbering idiot. Much worse than dying.

After School

Jan. 4th, 2011 | 11:27 pm

One of my new favorite photos that I took also happens to be Day 4 for the 365 Day Photo Project. I had this idea for a day loosely planning it out. The shot I wanted was a long shot taken close to the ground with one stocking over the fan, the skirt and the other stocking on the floor, a tie on the bed with the light source from behind. I found that that was impossible to shoot since it was just far too busy and I just could not get the perspective right. So, my final product is a stripped (pardon the pun) down version of the original idea and I'm pretty happy with it.

I ended up taking over 40 pictures moving the props around, moving the light source around and realizing through the course of that that I was taking too many shots. There is a time when one must simply limit the number of shots and trust that one of them is acceptable. There is no such thing as the "Perfect Shot".

The original title was going to be "Daddy's Home" but since the tie and men shoes are no longer part of the shot I changed the name to "After School". And like I said, I really like the end result.

Some Things I've Learned While Watching Zeta

Jan. 4th, 2011 | 06:58 pm

1. Everyone is on acid and I am jealous of that fact.

2. Slapping someone is perfectly acceptable in the future.

3. You're gonna get bitch slapped at some point.

4. Women! DO NOT throw yourself in front of a beam for a man! You're gonna get your ass killed!

5. Despite how technologically advanced a Mobile Suit is it's gonna be vulnerable to a rope.

6. Everyone is gonna die. EVERYONE!

A Dream.

Jan. 4th, 2011 | 09:57 am

I had a dream last night, well this morning since it woke me up...it was an odd dream. I was in some old desolate greasy gas station bathroom. The kind where there is no mirror and you're damn lucky if there's any toilet paper. I was with a group of people and we were running from something. Zombies maybe? I just remember a sense of extreme urgency and danger. I was in the bathroom to put in a tampon but was having a damn hard time of it. No matter what I did I was in extreme pain every time I tried to insert the tampon. Finally, I had no choice but to put it in and deal with the pain later. The group had to move.

It was only after the tampon was in and the group was moving did I figure out why there was so much pain involved....I was a boy in the dream.

Harlock, the best damn cook I know. Every time he's in the kitchen I know I'll be eating good.

365 Prompt Ideas

Jan. 3rd, 2011 | 10:02 am

It's one thing to take pictures all willy nilly for this 365 photo project but quite another thing to take a photo based around a theme or prompt. I would like to develop weekly prompts that will guide my hand and eye. Sure, there are groups out there dedicated for just thing thing but I want to do my own thing either by developing the ideas and prompts myself or by taking suggestions from others.

So, gimme any ideas for prompts or themes you might have.
